Julio Álvarez
Julio Álvarez
This is a Spanish name; the first family name is Álvarez and the second is Mosquera.
Julio Álvarez Mosquera (born 1 May 1981 in Caracas) is a Venezuelan-Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder, currently for UD Almería in the Spanish first division.
Football career
A playmaker, Álvarez started his career with Deportivo de La Coruña B, showing early promise and playing for Spain's U17 at the 1999 UEFA-CAF Meridian Cup (winning the tournament) and the 1998 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship (third place). Subsequently, he joined Real Madrid but, despite very good performances for the B and C outfits, could never break into the first team.
Following a successful season for Castilla, Álvarez was loaned to Racing de Santander in 2000-01. However, he was mostly injured, and could not help the Cantabria team escape relegation at the season's end. The following season, with 31 matches and one goal, he helped Racing quickly return to the top flight.
In July 2002, Álvarez was sent on loan again, to first division Rayo Vallecano, where he netted 8 times and was one of the team's best players, but again his team failed to keep its status, ranking last. Several teams made offers, and he was finally signed by Real Murcia.[1]Before playing any games for his new team, Álvarez got injured, and struggled throughout the vast majority of the season, finishing with 12 appearances, with Murcia also ending 20th.[2]Fully recovered, he went on to be a very important team player, showing impressive skills and netting some deciders, despite a poor year for the team in 2005-06, that almost ended in relegation. Álvarez also established himself as a free kick specialist.[3]
Following a worse second year, Álvarez was transfer listed and, on 9 August 2006, joined CD Numancia on a two-year deal.[4]Playing as an attacking or holding midfielder, Álvarez again showed enough quality to earn a regular starting eleven berth, under manager Andoni Goikoetxea (2006-07). Following the departure of some important players, Álvarez became a key player in team's push for promotion, scoring more winning goals.[5] Numancia won 2007-08, 5 points clear of Málaga CF.
Álvarez's contract expired by the end of the season and UD Almería signed him on a free transfer on July 3, 2008,[6]where he got the opportunity to work again with Gonzalo Arconada, his former boss at Numancia. He replaced Fiorentina-bound Felipe Melo.

Álvaro Negredo Sánchez (born August 20, 1985 in Vallecas, Madrid) is a Spanish football striker for UD Almería. His nickname is La fiera de Vallecas (The wild animal of Vallecas).
Club career
Negredo started his career at Rayo Vallecano, making his professional debuts in early 2005, with the team by then in the third level. He switched during that summer to another Madrid side, as he ended his formation in Real Madrid affiliate Real Madrid Castilla, from 2005-07.
In his last season, Negredo really developed as a striker (18 league goals), although he could not prevent Castilla's drop into Segunda División B. He impressed the first team's coach Fabio Capello, and was called for a few Real matches in the Spanish Cup, but stayed unused on the bench. Finally, he made his debut for the first team in a friendly against Atlético de Madrid.
In July 2007, Negredo was sold to La Liga promotees UD Almería, with R.Madrid having an option to rebuy. On February 2, 2008, he scored from the spot in a 2-0 home win against his former team.[1]On April 19, in a 4-1 away success against UEFA Cup and Copa del Rey current holders Sevilla CF, he added two, after having missed a penalty kick.
Negredo finished the season as Almería's topscorer with 13 goals, as the side from Andalusia finished 8th. In 2008-09, he netted five in the side's first six matches, including a 95' minute scored against neighbours Recreativo de Huelva (1-0), on September 28, 2008. In February of the following year, he scored a brace against Valencia CF, which took his league tally to 10, albeit in a 2-3 away loss.
Personal
Negredo's older brother, César, is also a footballer. A defender, he currently plays for CD Alcoyano.
This is a Spanish name; the first family name is Negredo and the second is Sánchez.

Hugo Sánchez
Hugo Sánchez
Player
Early career
Sánchez was born in Mexico. As a teenager, Sánchez played for the Mexico national football team in the 1975 Pan-American Games and in the 1976 Summer Olympics. Having already played in over 80 international games, Sánchez signed as a youth player at the age of 18 for UNAM Pumas, a professional team representing Mexico's National University, where he completed a degree in Dentistry while keeping up his football career. That year, UNAM managed to get its first championship in the Mexican Football League. Two years later, he became top-scorer in the league with 20 goals. In 1979, UNAM agreed to exchange players during the off-seasons with the San Diego Sockers of the North American Soccer League (NASL). The NASL played during the summer and the Mexican League played during the fall, winter and spring. UNAM loaned Sánchez to the Sockers in both 1979 and 1980 where he became a dominant striker for the Sockers, averaging nearly a goal a game.
Sánchez' five seasons with UNAM were the team's golden years. In his last season with the team, Hugo again became the top-scorer in a tie with his teammate Cabinho and UNAM won its second championship and the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Career in Spain and success
After five successful seasons in Mexico, with 99 goals to his name, Sánchez drew the attention of several Spanish sides, and signed with Atlético Madrid in 1981. He turned down an offer to play for Arsenal FC, a prominent English soccer team. It took him a while to find his feet in La Liga, but by the 1984-85 season he was scoring regularly with a team that won the Copa del Rey, finished in second place in the Spanish League and won the Spanish Super Copa. That year Hugo also won his first Pichichi trophy for being the most prolific scorer in the league.
At the high-point of his career, he signed for Real Madrid in 1985 and played with players such as Camacho, Butragueño, Gordillo, Schuster, Valdano and Míchel. This team won five consecutive league titles (from 1985-86 to 1989-90), the Copa del Rey in 1989, and the UEFA Cup in 1986. During those five years, Sánchez garnered four consecutive Pichichi trophies(the only player in Spain's soccer history to achieve this), scoring 207 goals in 283 games. He scored 27 or more goals in four consecutive seasons between 1986 and 1990, including 38 goals in the 1989-90 season, tying the single-season record set in 1951 by Telmo Zarra and earning the European Golden Boot award to the best scorer in Europe. Overall, he scored 23 goals in 45 European Cup games.
In 1992, Sánchez returned to his native Mexico for a season, before playing for a variety of clubs in Spain, Austria and the USA (he played for the Dallas Burn in the inaugural year of Major League Soccer, becoming one of two people, along with Roy Wegerle, to play outdoor soccer in both the NASL and MLS). He finished his career playing for Atlético Celaya with Butragueño and Míchel, his old colleagues from Real Madrid.
National team career
In comparison to his "domestic" club success, Sánchez did not have a successful international career with the Mexican national team. He played 60 matches and scored 29 goals for the Mexican national team, but his years as a Mexican international coincided with a difficult period for the nation's football. Mexico did not participate in the World Cup of 1982 and 1990, in which Sánchez would have most likely been part of the Mexican squad. He scored one goal in eight appearances in the three World Cups in which he competed and was never selected for the "Best XI" World Cup squads. Sánchez's brash personality is often cited as the reason he did not play many games at the 1994 World Cup, purportedly as a result of internecine frictions between Hugo and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF).[citation needed]
Retirement
Sánchez retired from Spanish football on May 29, 1997, playing with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium—the stadium that witnessed most of his glory throughout his career. His last official game was in the 1998 World Cup preliminaries where he just touched the ball as a symbol of his retirement.
